Rocla manufactures precast concrete infrastructural products through an extensive network of factories throughout South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Rocla can design and manufacture special products. This is made possible through the technical expertise and quality controls the company has in place after many years experience in the pre-cast concrete field.
Rocla has developed the mobile plant concept, which involves the manufacture of products on site in order to minimize transport costs. Although the products are not manufactured in the "factory environment", the attention to quality is not neglected. SmartStone was founded in 1980. The original SmartStone concept was to create concrete products that simulate the look and feel of natural stone, but SmartStone quickly evolved into much more. We pioneered the idea of exterior design systems, which was achieved by creating products with natural textures, others which remained true to concrete and some that could only be described as authentic SmartStone. Subsequently, SmartStone became a generic name and our manufactured product range expanded to include various shape and texture pavers, wall cladding, tiles and landscaping features.
