Quality Cast in Concrete
Quality Cast in ConcreteEstablished in 1972 and based in Gauteng, South Africa, the Concrete Manufacturers Association NPC (CMA), is a trade association which promotes factory-made precast concrete products.

The CMA lobbies for best-practice technical standards in the manufacture and application of precast concrete and promotes its members and their products as trusted market leaders.

The association:

• Is a non-profit organisation funded by its members
• Promotes the use of quality precast concrete products
• Initiates and revises technical standards on precast concrete products
• Provides technical literature and seminars for the specifying professional.

CMA executive director, Wally Armstrong, has retired and his position has been filled by Frans Minaar. The CMA and it members are deeply indebted to Wally. He was appointed to head the Association towards the end of 2012, a period severe financial constraints and member despondency.

Put simply, Wally rescued the Association from the brink of extinction. Ever the incurable optimist, he realised that in order to continue its role as the custodian of the precast concrete industry CMA membership would have to be expanded and more broadly based, and during his tenure membership grew, thanks largely to his drive and initiative. Moreover, he transformed the CMA from an essentially South African association to one which now enjoys membership across several African countries.
