QUALITY CAST IN CONCRETE

The Concrete Manufacturers Association, based in Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa, was established in 1972 for the purpose of 'promoting the interests and general advancement of factory produced precast concrete products.

Today, CMA, as a trade association, promotes and lobbies for best-practice technical standards on materials and workmanship in the precast Industry, promotes its' members as trusted technical leaders in the Industry and through its' activities promotes the increased sales of its' members products.The association is a:

  • non-profit organisation funded by its' members
  • promoter of the use of quality precast concrete products
  • nucleus for the writing and revising of technical standards relating to precast concrete products
  • provider of technical literature and education seminars for the specifying professional

NEW CONCRETE BLOCK PAVING STANDARD AMENDED

SANS 1058  2010, the new SABS (South African Bureau of Standards) mark for concrete block pavers (CBP), and for manufacturers who produce to the specifications within the standard, has been amended. Concrete Manufacturers Association (CMA) members were involved in every aspect of a concrete retaining block (CRB) wall project at Middelburg Mall, an ultra-modern regional shopping centre in Mpumalanga, which is due for completion in April 2012.
