PRESTRESSED SLABS INSTALLED AT ORANGE FARM YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTRE :

Prestressed hollow-core concrete slabs are installed at the Arekopaneng youth development centre in Orange Farm at the end of April. Supplied by CMA member, Echo Prestress, the slabs form part of CMA’s R700 000 contribution to the construction of the centre.

Manufactured under ISO 9001 and SANS 1879 : 2004 specifications, slabs covering an area of 286m² were supplied for the fast-track construction of the centre’s upper-level flooring.

The new building will be used to provide after-school activity for 350 Orange Farm children from seven upwards and teenagers up to the age of eighteen. Other CMA members are supplying concrete masonry blocks, concrete block pavers and concrete roof tiles.
